Let’s Start With the Conversation

Different needs. Different seasons. Different starting points.

You may be looking for a speaker. You may have a team navigating change. You may be carrying a leadership challenge that would benefit from a trusted outside perspective.

Tell me a little about what you’re navigating, and we’ll figure out whether I’m the right fit.

Speaking

Sometimes the need is a room full of people who need to see something differently.

I speak with corporate, leadership, ministry, faith-based, and community audiences about ownership, character, resilience, stewardship, purpose, endurance, leadership, and the long game.

The goal is not a temporary emotional high.

It is a useful idea that stays with people after the event is over.

Consulting

Organizations rarely suffer from a shortage of activity.

The harder challenge is seeing the real problem clearly enough to know where the activity should go.

I work with teams and organizations around leadership, culture, trust, ownership, change, alignment, resilience, and team effectiveness.

The starting point is usually not a solution. It is understanding reality clearly enough to know what actually needs to change.

Sometimes that leads to facilitation.

Sometimes strategy.

Sometimes leadership development.

Sometimes the most valuable thing I can do is help a team see the situation differently.

Leadership Advisory & Mentoring

Leadership can be strangely lonely.

The more responsibility you carry, the fewer places there are to think out loud without performing.

Leadership advisory and mentoring gives leaders a trusted outside perspective: someone who can listen, ask the uncomfortable question, help separate signal from noise, and challenge the story when necessary.

This is personal and selective work.

It is not a packaged coaching program.

The conversation usually centers on clarity, ownership, purpose, transition, decision-making, resilience, and the leader you are becoming while you carry the responsibility.

What Working Together Feels Like

Practical

Good ideas need somewhere to land.

Honest

Reality wins eventually. We may as well deal with it early.

Relational

The work is better when trust is real.

Purposeful

Activity is not the goal. Progress toward something that matters is.

Sometimes the Need Is Strategy. Sometimes It’s Perspective. Often It’s Both.

A strategy can be technically sound and still fail because the people are not aligned.

A leadership problem can look relational while being driven by structural confusion.

A person can appear stuck because they need a plan—or because they need a different way of seeing the problem.

That is why I resist beginning with a packaged answer.

We start with reality.

What is happening?

What matters?

What is actually within your control?

What is the next useful move?

Then we build from there.

Who This Work Fits

This tends to be a good fit for leaders carrying meaningful responsibility, teams navigating transition or misalignment, organizations trying to strengthen trust and culture, and people in seasons where the old playbook no longer fits.

You do not need to have the problem perfectly defined before we talk.

Sometimes defining it is the first useful thing we do together.

"Dave is the most competent and effective leader I've ever had the pleasure of working under. He is remarkably capable at cutting through jargon and getting to the core of an issue, effectively communicating the requirements to his team, and doing everything in his power to enable that team to succeed. He has also been a stand-out mentor to everyone within his circle. Dave is a pleasure to work with and I very much admire his leadership skills."
